How did you hear about LA Tri Club?

I had seen people with tri kits, bike kits, shorts and such at the Pasadena Triathlon in 2020. I then saw a booth at the Long Beach Legacy and then at Herbalife. I had spoken to Deb at Herbalife and wanted to join.

What got you interested in triathlon?

Back in 2002 I volunteered for Ironman Hawaii. I told myself I'd do one by the time I was a certain age but that age came and went in a blink of an eye. I then learned there were other distances so I thought I'd give it a shot.

What was your first Triathlon?
My first one was the Pasadena Triathlon in 2020. I wanted to see if this was something I'd enjoy. I quickly found out that this was something I wanted to get into, after saying I'd just do this for fun of course. I went on to do Pasadena, Legacy and Herbalife in 2021.

What is your favorite race and why?
I'm not sure if I have a favorite yet, each one has been such a different experience. I feel like this year I'll have a better answer as I'm doing the same ones again. My first year I feel like I was just thinking about finishing and all the things I have to do. This year I can focus more on enjoying and doing better than last.
If you could pick three MUST HAVES / MUST DO'S on race day morning, what are they?
Bagel and cream cheese, my morning of triathlon playlist and my bathroom breaks before the race.

Have you been to any LATC events so far?
I went to the LATC/Herbalife mashup.

Do you have any plans for more races in the near future?
Yes I have the La Tri series #2, Herbalife, Legacy and possibly one in San Diego.

What do you do outside of your training?
I am a personal trainer (yes please ask me any training questions!), I also work for Second Spectrum, a company contracted with the NBA, MLS, G-league and NCAA M/W Bball. I play basketball, hockey, do lots of yoga, I go snowboarding, and the usual hang out with friends. I'd like to make more friends in the triathlon community.

What has been the most difficult thing for you personally about training for triathlons?
Finding time to be consistent and finding the time to go to clinics.

Do you know anyone else that is currently a member of LATC? If yes, who?!
Josh, only because we're both Herbalife ambassadors.
