LA Tri Club Velocity

LA Tri Club Velocity is an indoor bike workout led by LA Tri Club Head Coach, and USAT Elite Coach, Ian Murray. There are live rides on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-7:30am pacific time (Ian’s on at 6 if you want to log-in early and chat), and on-demand rides available 24/7. These workouts are best done on a smart trainer but can be ridden on a standard trainer, Peloton, or any indoor bicycle.

We advise that you to drop into the platform ANYTIME to sign up, connect devices, and explore the 45min “Intro to LA Tri Club Velocity” workout before your first live ride. But you could probably follow the directions below and get all set up between 6am and 6:30am on a live ride morning.

A couple of important notes:

1) LA Tri Club Velocity platform is only compatible with a Chrome browser for laptops and PCs. For iPads, they run a different version of Chrome, so you need to download the "Velocity Cycling" app from the Apple App Store.

2) Any Bluetooth-compatible devices you have will enhance the ride (smart trainer, HR monitor, power meters, etc.) and have your Bluetooth enabled on your laptop, PC or iPad

3) If you have a dedicated cadence sensor then “connect” the cadence, if you’re gonna get cadence off power meter or trainer then leave cadence disconnected and it’ll work.

4) Bluetooth establishes 1-to-1 relationships, so please make sure your devices aren't already connected to a head unit, another device or software program (Zwift, Trainer Road, etc.) or a manufacturer's app (Wahoo, TACX, etc.)

5) The stronger your internet connection, the better your experience. This is a video-based app, so you'll need a good upload/download speed

6) There's a helpful little pink circle in the bottom right corner of the riding app ( the provides access to a large library of education and support articles/videos my hope is you won’t need those but it’s there if you do.

7) Once you’re in on the live ride you can click on your camera (upper right side of screen in green) and, to see each other you can click on the people icon top center-right.
