Swim Event

TriChicks - Barb's Race Training Group

This is a swim/bike brick. Figure on swimming 20 to 40 minutes. We'll ride about 2 to 2.5 hours. Don't worry about distances right now, we're still getting comfortable with the longer workouts. This is a great place for a swim/ride brick because we will be swimming in a wave-free bay that is closed to boats. Choose your own distance to swim based on what's your swim distance is now. You can swim as close to the shore as you need to if you are not yet comfortable in deeper water. Park free on Ocean Avenue. Leave your bike in/on your vehicle or lock it up near where we will be swimming. Bring your wetsuit and towel, goggles and cap to the float on the bay. We'll all get in at the same time and swim toward the nearby bridge a few hundred yards away and then back to the float. In case of rain, we will not swim or bike. Instead we will meet at the Bayshore playground park and run one to two hours, depending on your endurance.

Bayshore Aquatic Playground Park, Long Beach, CA Bayshore Aquatic Playground Park is on Ocean Avenue at 54th Street in Long Beach. It's near 2nd Avenue in Belmont Shore.
