Charity Pi Run

I am Connor Spencer, an 8th grade student at Miraleste Middle school in Rancho Palos Verdes. I have been doing charity work since I was 7 years old and am very passionate about it and hope to continue it throughout my life. This year I am organizing my second 3.14 kilometer (2 mile) run/walk event called the “Charity Pi Run” because pi is approximately 3.14. It will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Ernie Howlett Park in Rolling Hills Estates. It will be open to all levels, from elite cross-country racers down to walkers just trying to have a good time, and the best part is everyone will get pie. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for two of my favorite charities: Heifer International and Doctors Without Borders. We are raising these funds through my charity called Chubby Cheeks Incorporated (better known as Chubby Cheeks Charity), an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. “Chubby cheeks are healthy cheeks.” A quick synopsis of the two charities that we donate to are as follows: Doctors Without Borders - a charity organization designed to provide medical services to over 70 war-torn regions and developing countries Heifer International - a charity organization working to end hunger and poverty throughout the world by providing livestock and training to struggling communities. There will be an XC Elite start and a Fun Run/Walk start 5 minutes after. The Entry Fee is $20.
