Read Allison Joy’s tri journey and why LATC needs to thank Google for a fabulous search engine!

How did you hear about LA Tri Club?
Google searched for a local group to train with during the year.

What got you interested in triathlon?
I got a company email about their triathlon team and leapt at the opportunity to get involved in a sport that I found challenging and exciting.

What was your first Triathlon (or the first one you might be training for currently)?  Tell us all about it!!
2016 Malibu Triathlon — it was nerve racking to be participating in such a huge, competitive event but I knew exactly what to expect and I was so proud of myself for completing the course, especially with my loved ones there who had all woken up early and driven out to support me that day.

What is your favorite race and why?
Hermosa, because it’s fast, fun, and easygoing.

If you could pick three MUST HAVES / MUST DO'S on race day morning, what are they?
Get up with enough time to move slowly, sing in the car on the way to the parking lot, and jump in to test the water before my wave.

Have you been to any LATC events so far?
Friday swims, Saturday bike rides, and I’m excited to finally attend a First Thursday event!

Do you have any plans for more races in the near future?
I want to try the women’s SB triathlon, which also looks like it has the potential to be a combination of all my favorite things about the Hermosa triathlon.

What do you do outside of your training? For work, other sports, for fun, etc
Attorney by trade. Jewish Big Sister-in-training. Hiking, camping, travel, and brunches for fun.

What has been the most difficult thing for you personally about training for triathlons?
Pushing myself to the point of PR and getting outside of my comfort zone!

Do you know anyone else that is currently a member of LATC? If yes, who?!
 That’s classified :)
