Multisports.com and Cedar City, UT are hosting their 2nd annual Fire Road Cedar City on Saturday, July 7th. We wanted to invite any and all cycling teams/clubs and provide a discount for the LA Tri Club. If you haven’t heard of the event, here are some of the basic facts: Who: Anyone and everyone. What: Fire Road Cedar City – 2-mile kid’s race, 25km, 60km, & 100km courses. Where: Cedar City, UT When: Saturday, July 7th, 2012 Why: Because not everyone has X-Games skills and mountain bikers deserve a gran fondo of their own. - 25km course – perfect for the beginner. Over 50% is on paved road and has less than 300-feet of climbing. - 60km course – Over 4000-feet of climbing. - 100km course – Over 7000-feet of climbing. - Starting altitude of 6200-feet. - Highest altitude of 9500-feet on the 60km and 100km courses. - 2-mile controlled neutral roll out. - 95% of the course is on improved dirt roads. - Spectacular scenery including views of Cedar Breaks and Zion National Parks. - Well stocked aid stations. - Chip timing. - $5000 prize money for the 100km as follows: o 1st Male and Female - $750 o 2nd Male and Female - $500 o 3rd Male and Female - $250 o Male KOM - $1000 o Female QOM - $1000 - Age group awards for the 60km & 100km - Team Awards (1st, 2nd & 3rd) for the 60km and 100km - On course technical support - Well marked wide open course – you won’t get bottle necked – plenty of room to ride. - Located just 1 to 2-hours from 3-national parks, Gooseberry Mesa, and Las Vegas. - Music , beer garden, and great food at the finish line.
