Pit Crew Manager
Kelly is joining the LA Tri Club leadership after two years as an active member of the club and Pit Crew volunteer. Born in Washington, D.C. and raised along the banks of the Potomac River, Kelly was swimming, biking and running since an early age but only started putting all three together in 2005.
Kelly’s first triathlon was back east, where she was introduced to ocean swimming and grateful that she didn’t live near the beach… And then she moved to Los Angeles. Facing the cold hard truth, she bought a wetsuit and took Ocean 101, joined Konrad’s Wednesday morning swim circuits and eventually became a confident ocean swimmer.
On the bike, Kelly has pedaled across the state of Iowa in the famous RAGBRAI ride and from Raleigh, North Carolina to Washington, D.C. not to mention countless rides up and down PCH in the LA Tri Club’s weekly rides. She also completed 5 marathons prior to entering the triathlon world, where she is happy to give her knees a break through varied training.
After ten years in network television journalism, Kelly is on hiatus from following presidential campaigns and the 24 hour news cycle while raising a family. She currently manages the Topanga Farmers’ Market and hopes you’ll ride your bike up Topanga Canyon Blvd. some Friday morning to come to the market and say hello.
