Practice in the environment where you race - Get in the open water on days other than race day!!! Most of our races are in the ocean or lakes. Practice in these environments. Once a week to supplement your swimming pool work will improve your odds of success and comfort greatly. Practice: ins-&-outs in various surf conditions, sighting, body surfing, bilateral breathing, pacing (rememberno walls to hang on!), rounding buoys, swimming in your wetsuit.
